Best Pick- Josh Hamilton- The 139th overall prospect in 2007 turned out to be one of the best choices of the whole draft. Conor scooped up Hamilton probably in part becasue he thought it was funny to have a former crack head on his team but Hamilton went on to put up a very solid rookie campaign in 2007. He hit .291 with 19 HR and 47 RBI in only 298 AB’s, if that ended up being his best year he still would have been the best pick in the round. Hamilton then got traded to Texas and really broke out the following season going .304 32 HR 130 RBI in what should have been an MVP season for the Rangers. J-Ha fell off the wagon last season and his numbers showed it, the Brew Crew sent him packing to the Monsters this offseason and he’ll look to lead the lowly Smoke Monsters to best their 3 win year of 2009.

Worst Pick- Alberto Gonzalez- You cant really expect much out of the 12th round and there were plenty of nominees for this worst pick, but Gonzalez takes the cake. Gonzales was projected as a defensively sound short stop that could eventually take over for Derek Jeter. Knowing that defense was such a determining factor in fantasy baseball Lester was thrilled to grab Gonzales with his 12 rd pick. Three years later and Gonzalez cant even get consistent playing time for the Nats, hitting .264 with 1 homer in 291 AB’s last season.

Still Could Make it- Hank Conger- Brad picked up Conger in the 12th round and a few years later he’s the Angles top prospect. Conger is just 21 and on track to break into the majors in late 2010 or early 2011 and should be of decent fantasy value, especially if he can stick at catcher. Conger has shown an ability to hit for a good average and has some solid pop in his bat but staying healthy has been his issue thus far, only playing a combined 157 games over the last 2 seasons. The Quahogs are hoping that he can knock the injury bug and become at least an above average big leaguer. And yes he is Asian.

% in MLB- 4 out of 12- 33% although other than Hamilton no one has made a real impact
